Events

There are many creative courses and events in and around Scotland for those of you with a patchworking, quilting or textile interest…if you know where to look. Some are close to home here in Edinburgh and others are further afield. If you'd like to add your event or class(es) to this list then just drop me an email.

Airhouse Studios, Lauder, Scottish Borders - Knitting and Dressmaking courses.

Burnbrae Textile Art Workshops, Kelso, Scottish Borders - Some great courses including Handcrafted Books, Free Machine Embroidery and Surfaces to Stitch and Dye. Self catering accommodation as well.

Drummond Community High School, Edinburgh - everything from crochet, knitting, dressmaking to feltmaking, weaving and tapestry.

Edinburgh College of Art - the Centre for Continuing Studies offer a number of textile relates course on weekdays and weekends.

Edinburgh Quilters - Demonstrations, Talks, hands on fun every now and again!

Four Winds Inspiration Centre - Silk Painting, Felt making, Textile Weaving.

Gartmore House, Stirling - Patchwork & Quilting holidays.

Leith School of Art - Textiles, Shibori, Tapestry, Batik.

Mixing Fibres - Felting, Hats, Jewellery - great fun! An open and friendly studio just off Leith Walk in Edinburgh where you can use all the facilities for a small rental fee (sewing machines, embellisher, iron, large tables, knitting machines, felting kit and much, much more)

Moondance Wools - Eyemouth - Knitting, Spinning & Weaving classes in the Scottish Borders.

The National Museum of Costume  Dumfries often run workshops.

The National Galleries of Scotland occassionally run textile related courses. Keep checking their site for updates.
